If your company ships products overseas, please read this. It’s important!
Beginning October 1, 2001, all coniferous wood (i.e. spruce, pine, fir) originating from the United States and Canada and used in the manufacturing of crate, pallets, drums, cases, etc. Shipping to the European Union must be either:
1. Heat-treated or kiln-dried to a minimum core temperature of 56°c for
at least 30 minutes
2. Pressure treated with an approved chemical; or
3. Fumigated with an approved chemical
In addition, the wood must display a mark similar to the following:

For the time being, all hardwood lumber is exempt from this heat-treated restriction. Therefore, if your crates consist of all aspen, oak, etc. you do not need the heat-treated stamp on your lumber. But stay tuned, this too could change soon.
